Great resource, Tom. At Kent State University we’re working PitchEngine into the Media Relations class. I’ll be sure to point this video out to my fellow classmates when the course starts this summer.
I noticed that most of the elements on PitchEngine you pointed out are the pieces that are unique to SMR. I think it’s important for PR professionals to understand the differences in these two tools and how they will eventually reach the media (or sometimes directly reach target audiences).
Thanks again for the resource!

Thanks so much Chris! I appreciate your kind comments. The things I really stressed in the video are the items that are unique to the SMR. Interestingly, from what I have seen these are the ones most likely to get left out by the individual using the service that has little experience with SMRs…

This is an excellent explanation and a great resource. I thought I knew how to use Pitch Engine but I learnt here at least two things I was not using to best effect. Thanks for doing this. I will be sharing it!
Thank you sir! PitchEngine is an underutilized tool. I have the hang of it myself and can knock out a press release in just a few minutes. The connectivity is the key!
